The locksmith industry is one of the hardest to break into online. Google Business Profile (GBP) verification is notoriously difficult due to high levels of fraud in the category, and without it, even legitimate locksmiths struggle to show up in local search results. On top of that, Carhax didn’t have a modern website or a clear strategy to capture leads, leaving them invisible in a highly competitive market.
Our Approach
Read the full project story
We tackled the most difficult challenge first — helping Carhax successfully get verified on Google Business Profile. That step alone gave them instant local visibility, allowing them to appear in Google Maps searches for locksmith services — a game-changer for an industry where trust and visibility mean everything.
Next, we designed and launched a new website built for speed, clarity, and conversions. The site highlights Carhax’s automotive locksmith services, reinforces credibility with clear branding, and gives potential customers a straightforward path to call or request service.
To drive leads even further, we launched a Google Ads campaign targeting high-intent locksmith searches in their service area. Combined with the new GBP listing, this ensured Carhax would show up in both paid and organic results — giving them maximum visibility when customers needed help most.
Results
Before vs. After
Before, Carhax was essentially invisible online — no verified profile, no site, and no way to compete. Today, they’re visible in Google Maps, supported by a modern site, and actively generating leads through Google Ads. From credibility to conversions, we gave them the full toolkit to grow in one of the toughest industries online.
